The Wall

These are some amazing pieces up on the wall. 

Starting at the top is my "Americana" section, featuring 1958 topps cards of Mickey Mantle, Hank Aaron, and both of them! The red, white, and blue motif really ties together that baseball is America's pastime. 

Next, on the left, is one of the coolest pieces I own and the one holding the most sentimental value. Despite Mantle passing away many years prior, my cousin's husband (an on-again, off-again collector himself) tracked this down this "personalized" Mantle auto as a high school graduation gift. The blue ink really jumps off of the black and white background.

The Hank Greenberg autographed magazine cutout on the right is one I bought mostly for how ridiculous it is. Hank, the best Jewish baseball player (until Sandy Koufax came around), made this autograph out "To Jesus". 

Finally, on the bottom, is a photo capturing Marc-Andre Fleury's incredible save in the final seconds of Game 7 of the 2009 Stanley Cup Finals. The Penguins were decidedly outmatched against the Red Wings in the prior year's cup finals, making this victory even more thrilling. One of the nicest guys off the ice, "Flower" is a three-time cup champion (all with the Penguins), a Vezina trophy winner, and a surefire Hall of Famer.
