Ichiro, one of my all-time favorite players and my favorite "non-Yankee" (anything other than him in a Mariners jersey borders on sacrelige), spent 2.5 years in the Bronx. Somehow his time in New York included just his second and final trip to the postseason of his incredible 19-year MLB career, though he did win the Japan Series and his third straight Pacific League MVP with Orix in 1996.Â
From bottom left, this rainbow includes the following parallels: Target (Red), Gold (serial numbered to 2012), Gold Sparkle, and Wal-Mart Blue. The top row includes rarer variants: Orange (numbered to 210), the Short Printed "Bowing" variation signed in blue paint pen, and the Black parallel (numbered to just 61). The autograph comes courtesy of a signing at Mill Creek Sports and the Black /61 parallel was shipped all the way from someone in the UK.
Ichiro fans should also check out my 1993 BBM Rookie Card, signed in bright orange to match that year's set!
